Health-E-News Quick Announcement While I am putting the finishing touches on a full September issue of Health-E-News I wanted you to be aware of a new health tool right away that may benefit you.
New website announcement: Wellsphere's new health technology is now LIVE!New website will make health knowledge personal I may have mentioned briefly in a previous newsletter that I had been invited to work with a company called Wellsphere. Several months ago, Dr. Geoffrey Rutledge, Wellsphere’s Chief Information Officer and one of the original founders of the now popular WebMD, came across my stroke blog (www.know-stroke.org) and invited me to be a featured blogger in their Brain Health Community. While I have been able to see the great things that have been happening "behind the scenes" with this new web health technology, I had been sworn to bite my lip and not reveal any details until today. I can now tell you Wellsphere will launch their next generation health website officially later this week, but I have been given the OK to let you know about it before the media and press releases are sent out globally. So, what is Wellsphere? (Here's highlights from of the upcoming Wellsphere media release) Wellsphere already has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing top 10 health websites. Under the direction of Dr. Rutledge, a Stanford Computer Science PhD and former Harvard Medical School faculty member, Wellsphere has just launched its groundbreaking solution for finding expert health knowledge and
personal support. The new Wellsphere technology introduces “WellPages,” comprehensive, personalized webpages that connect people with the best health knowledge from experts, doctors, patients and healthy living professionals – providing immediate answers to their specific health questions.
How do WellPages work?
Every WellPage is powered by Wellsphere’s cutting edge, proprietary Health Knowledge Engine. The new Health Knowledge Engine understands people’s everyday health questions, instantly translates them into medical terminology, finds the most relevant credible knowledge, and presents it all on a single user-friendly WellPage. Dr. Rutledge describes “Each WellPage provides users with a comprehensive set of articles carefully selected from leading medical experts, research institutions, healthy living professionals and other trusted health writers so users don’t have to visit multiple websites to find answers to their health questions. WellPages also provide a rich user experience by combining health information with relevant informative videos and high quality medical images that helps users understand better what they have and how to cope with it.” WellPages offer a comprehensive perspective on millions of health topics by drawing from hundreds of thousands of articles written by Wellsphere’s network of 1,200 rigorously selected health writers and experts who dedicate their writing to helping others improve their lives. Many of the leading medical minds from Stanford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Yale and other top Medical Institutions are currently sharing their knowledge alongside patients who bravely share their journeys through stories, pictures, videos, and personal discussions. Patients can also connect in any of Wellsphere’s more than 100 new health communities to share advice and support one another. My stroke blog is part of one of these new health communities. It is featured in the Brain Health Community. Drop in now to Wellsphere to see what this new site has to offer. See my Wellsphere page
