crushing ankle/foot sprain

by Dana Clow
(Bakersfield, CA. USA)

Due to being thrown off my horse I sustained a sprained ankle/foot on the inside of my foot in the navicular bone area. I fell onto my right hip which exposed the inside of my right ankle, the horse stomped on that area of my foot/ankle. It was x-rayed twice and no breaks were detected, The injury is now 3 weeks old. I have been Ace wrapping it for the past 1.5 weeks and wear a Cam boot when I am required to walk anywhere away from the house. I am icing it 3xs a day. I take 800mg Ibuprophen 3xs a day. I still have a lot of bruising in that area, the heal and the bottom of my foot. It is still swelling in the joint near the navicular bone. I am still in a lot of pain upon standing and walking. What else can/should I do?

Thanks,
Dana
